Trouble has now a new face in National City.
Italia Ricci will first cause friction for Kara in the CatCo workplace as Cat Grant’s new hire Siobhan Smythe, according to ET Online. In due course, her recurring role will eventually morph into the hypersonic screamer Silver Banshee. Ricci’s character a DC Comics villain also possesses superhuman strength which will prove a worthy match to our beloved Kryptonian super eroine.
Ricci will first make her entrance in episode 14.
Andrew Kreisberg was quoted in the online website with the statement saying:
“We are so excited to be working with Italia. We’ve been a fan of her work for years and we cannot wait to see her take on this iconic comic book role.”
The 29-year-old is a Canadian actress is noted for role as April Carver in the ABC Family series Chasing Life and as Sasha in the Comedy Central series Secret Girlfriend. She also played Gina in Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s extended Guido parody “Don Jon” in 2013.
Supergirl, which was played by “Glee” cast member Melissa Benoist, has already encountered a myriad of villains in its debut season from the revenge-seeking Livewire to the cyborg project Red Tornado. Her impending battle with the Silver Banshee though will continue the shows incorporation of Superman villains as mentioned in Cinemablend.
“You will see some Superman villains, which I think is interesting. You know, because he exists in the universe, and it’s not going to take much for them to look at the sky and go, ‘She’s wearing the same ‘S’ as this other guy and she can fly, too,” co-creator Greg Berlanti revealed.
“And so, it’s interesting to bring some of those characters over,” he added.
In view of this, TV LINE also reported that the show will start to incorporate a puberty stage Clark Kent 2016 via flashbacks.
