Fans of the popular Japanese anime “Itazura na Kiss,” also known as “Itakiss” can finally stream the series on Hulu. TMS Entertainment reportedly wanted to reach the North American market by introducing more animated films in the future. Meanwhile, Digital Manga Publishing will also release the manga of the same name this year.
According to Fandom Post, “Itazura na Kiss” first aired in 2008 in Japan. The series, based on the manga of the same name written by Kaoru Tada, was directed by Osamu Yamasaki. Meanwhile, the characters were designed by Maki Fujioka.
According to the plot synopsis of “Itakiss” by Crunchyroll, the series follows the story of high school girl Kotoko who is head over heels in love with his fellow senior named Naoki. When she finally had the courage to confess her feelings, Nakoki, however rejected her. By some twist of fate, an earthquake ruins Kotoko’s family’s house and they had no place to go but to stay at her dad’s childhood friend, whose son is Naoki.
The series ran for 25 episodes when it first aired in 2008. The premiere episode is already available for streaming in Hulu.
The “Itazura Na Kiss” manga was so popular that it sold more than 30 million copies. It has also been adapted into several television drama series in Japan (1996), Taiwan (2005 and 20007 under “It Started with a Kiss” and South Korea (2010).
