Jack Black, who is famous for playing Barry in 2000 hit comedy-drama film, “High Fidelity,” is all set to star in another Jared Hess comedy film, “Micronations” after collaborating with him in 2006, “Nacho Libre.” Read on.
The production company, Buffalo Film announced that the 45-year-old American actor will appear in the leading role for “Micronations.” “New Girl” writers Robert Snow and Christian Magalhaes will write the screenplay of the film while Black will co-produce the film under his banner, Electric Dynamite.
“Micronations” will revolve around the world of “do-it-yourself countries,” in which people will declare their own backgrounds as their own small or micronations.
According to Variety, Black will portray the role of the head of defence for the tiny nation of Valoria that has a population of 12 people. They are finding how things will work out when they face a war with their neighboring micronation, Wayne County.
Hess who worked with Jack Black in “Nacho Libre,” said that once he got the hint of the people who have created their own small countries in America, he had to make a film out of it. The concept really appealed him.
Hess’s next film, “Masterminds” is set to release in Aug. 2015 starring Krishten Wiig and Zack Galifianakis. Along with that, Hess is also teamed with Disney to direct “Overnight On 42nd Street.”
“Micronations” concept sounds like Black’s “Gulliver’s Travels” and Hess’ “Napoleon Dynamite” and we just cannot wait for it to release.
