British singer, Sam Smith has dropped a major hint regarding the upcoming James Bond movie, “Spectre.” Read on to know more details.
On his official Instagram page, Sam Smith posted a mysterious black-and-white photo of a hand wearing a ring with an Octopus logo emblazoned on it. Whoever has read the James Bond books knows that Octopus logo is from “Spectre.”
The image, which the singer posted on his social media, did not include any written caption, but one could take it as a confirmation that he will be singing the new film’s theme song.
According to Billboard, “Spectre” director Sam Mendes said that the team has recorded the theme song and it is sounding fantastic. At that time, the director noted that fans of the next Bond film would not have to wait long to find out the face behind the new theme song.
In 2013, Adele won both an Oscar and Golden Globe for the theme song for “Skyfall,” the last film in the James Bond franchise. Meanwhile, there were rumours circling around as to who might be the one to sing the theme song for the next James Bond. In addition to Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Lanea Del Rey, and Noel’s name also came out.
James Bond theme songs have always made a word in the town. From Sheena Easton’s “For Your Eyes Only,” Tina Turner’s “Goldeneye,” and Madonna’s “Die Another Day.” It would be interesting to hear what Sam Smith will bring to the next James Bond.
According to Skynews, Ed Sheeran said that Sam Smith would be the perfect choice for James Bond’s theme song. “I think Sam Smith would be perfect suited up with his strong voice,” she said.
“Spectre” will open in Australian cinemas on November 6. The theme song, released by Capitol Records, will debut and available to purchase on September 25.
