“Fifty Shades of Grey” was slammed by critics yet apparently this did not stop the film from breaking box-office records. But now that director Sam Taylor Johnson exits the franchise, viewers can’t help but wonder how her decision will affect the film’s sequel, “Fifty Shades Darker.” Read on.
A skyrocketing $566 million profit gained worldwide against a $40 million budget was collected by “Fifty Shades of Grey.” “Fifty Shades” fans now await the return of Mr. Grey and Anastasia in a sequel everyone is talking about.
Author E L James, according to Venture Capital Post, will come back to write the script for sequel entitled “Fifty Shades Darker,” the second book from the “Fifty Shades” trilogy.
The cast has already been finalized according to the website. There is a fair chance that Jamie Dornan (Christian Grey) and Dakota Johnson (Anastasia) will reprise their roles.
However, due to the discomfort of Dornan’s wife, Amelia Warner, on his raunchy sex scenes with Johnson, the Northern Irish actor allegedly thought of quitting from the franchise. But a spokesperson from Donan’s side clarified that the 32 year old actor will come back to do the sequel.
The actor’s spokesperson revealed that Dornan is actually excited to film the sequel, “Fifty Shades Darker.” It was said that “The Fall” actor was “delighted” of the box-office success of the film and he can’t wait to shoot his next scenes with Johnson.
Universal Pictures, however, has a very big task to get a director to do the controversial franchise. It was before they start working on the “Fifty Shades of Grey” sequel.
The second installment of “Fifty Shades of Grey,” called “Fifty Shades Darker” premieres on June 2017.
