As the world prepares to meet Christian Grey this coming Valentine’s Day, Jamie Dornan reveals how he copes with changes in his life after landing the role of the rather elusive dominant in the movie “Fifty Shades of Grey.”
In an interview with Variety, Dornan revealed the changes that’s been happening lately since he accepted the role of becoming Christian Grey. This includes being chased around by paparazzi, often at inconvenient, even personal times.
“In London, they follow you around and you try to lose them, which is not a comfortable thing if you have a baby in the back of your car,” Dornan told Variety, referring to his one-year-old daughter with his wife Amelia Warner.
“If I have a bike and I’m by myself, I can lose them, especially if they are on foot or on a moped,” Dornan added.
Hmm, sounds like he didn’t expect the intensity of the fan craze that came along with his role. But did he get any sort of advice from anyone who had a similar experience?
According to the feature, Dornan may have gotten just what he needed, thanks to Robert Pattinson, whose “Twilight” character Edward Cullen inspired Dornan’s Christian Grey. The two apparently became good friends sometime after Dornan filmed “Fifty Shades.”
Dornan said that he’s been around Pattinson well enough to see the effects of carrying the name of Edward Cullen. Although he also admitted that he and Pattinson didn’t really get to have a sound conversation on their last meeting because, like in a typical boys’ night out, they both ended up getting drunk.
But regardless of “Fifty Shades'” Christian Grey being inspired by “Twilight’s” Edward Cullen, Dornan cleared up that both movies have respective differences that make them pretty much incomparable to each other. As such, things regarding his and Pattinson’s movie characters may differ as well. So, we’ll just have to wait and see how far the “Fifty Shades” epidemic can go.
