Despite a tumultuous history, it seems as if Natalie Portman’s latest picture, a western entitled “Jane Got A Gun,” has been rescued from the quagmire of the Relativity Media bankruptcy by one of the movie’s producers, The Weinstein Company. Hopefully, with a brand new plan in place, fans of Natalie Portman will be able to see her slinging her gun in theaters as early as November 2015 and early 2016. Read on to learn more about the miraculous save  of “Jane Got A Gun” that The Weinstein Company orchestrated in order to get the film its chance in the sun. Reas on for more details.

Portman’s latest project, the western “Jane Got A Gun”, will thankfully see the light of day, even though one of its main producers, Relativity Media, is currently knee-deep in debt, so much so that the company filed for bankruptcy, according to Variety, last July 30, 2015, leaving many of the company’s projects either on hold, or with plans up in the air.

Thankfully, The Weinstein Company, one of the producers of the film, with the help of  attorney David Boies, another major financial backer of the film, managed to pull the film out of Relativity Media’s grasp just in time. It was before the project became stuck and mired in a bankruptcy case, that would take months to finish.

The film, according to Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, while it was filming, constantly ran into roadblocks, such as a director and casting changes. It was before it moved forward with Gavin O’Connor directing, and with an impressive cast consisting of Natalie Portman, Ewan McGregor, Joel Edgerton and Noah Emmerich.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new plan for the film, despite the many release dates that had been optioned while the film was still in the hands of Relativity Media, is that it will be released this coming November in Europe, and will be released in February 2016 in the United States of America.

Are you looking forward to watching Natalie Portman’s latest venture? Are you glad that this film was saved from the current mess that is now bogging down most of Relativity Media’s projects?   Let us know what you think in the comments below!
