When you’re up to grill one of the most loved young celebrities of this generation, you’d better be ready for anything. Fortunately for Jeff Ross, he had a very reliable source to ask advice for in preparation for ‘The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber’.
In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel in his TV show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ on Tuesday, March 31, Ross was asked of how he prepared for ‘The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber’ aired on TV the day before. Ross said he posted photos of Bieber all over his place. He also admitted of having run into Bieber’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez in a party in his agent’s house.
According to Ross, he walked over to Gomez and asked her for some advice for the roast. But all Gomez reportedly told him was: “Tell Justin the truth. The truth always worked for me.”
Well, it looks like that was all he needed because he sure did a job at the roast! Guess we now have an idea why he mentioned Gomez a lot in his jokes on Bieber.
Kimmel also inquired Ross of how the Beliebers reacted after the roast, asking “Did you wake up this morning to a bunch of death threats on Twitter from ten-year old girls?” amidst a chuckling Ross and audience. Ross then replied, “You know, the Beliebers… they should probably just kill ISIS… The Beliebers are vicious once they rip it,” making Kimmel and the audience laugh. Ross later added that despite the jabs at him, the Beliebers all understand that everything was for the show.
Prior to the TV premiere of the Comedy Central roast, Ross also admitted of asking advice from Gomez in a phone interview with Huffington Post. He also said that he thinks among the jokes his fellow roasters made, Martha Stewart’s were the most insane. Lastly, he said he’d love to roast Kanye West next.
