Shell came into limelight after being appointed as chairman of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group. The 50 year old executive felt like an outsider at first stating that he did not know movie business. Now, Universal Studios is about to mark its one of the best year in the 103 years of history. According to Variety, Universal has made a whooping amount from movie like “Jurassic World”, “Furious 7”, and “Minions”. They not just broke records they made astonishing success at different territories worldwide.
The studio approximately picked up about $6.65 billion at the box office worldwide which is a new record in itself. The studio bagged sequel projects of the records breakers too that means the billions have again rolled out in the studio.
Shell is accompanied by Donna Langley (Universal Pictures Chairman) and Ron Meyer (NBC Universal Vice Chairman) by side in making favourable decisions for Universal. Shell is claimed to be a business savvy and analytic in his approach. 50 year old Shell comes from giants like Comcast and Fox wherein he has served for many years and raised to higher positions.
During his interview before he took the job he stated that he doesn’t know much about films and indeed it is a difficult business to do. Alas after spending a flourishing year in Universal, Shell has been able to extend Universal globally and embrace the diverse audiences worldwide.
