Jennette McCurdy threw shade at Ariana Grande many a time. Rumor has it “Sam & Cat” was even cancelled because the two stars just could not get along! The Nickelodeon star has now spoken to address these issues.
Speaking to E! News, McCurdy revealed that she and Grande were “extremely close” and were “very like minded in a lot of different ways.” The actress said that she even treated the “One Last Time” singer like a sister. Now, where have all these nasty rumors of them fighting coming from, you ask? Well, McCurdy believed that the media had been coming up with baseless rumors to create drama. She added that ever since “Sam & Cat” got cancelled, people have been claiming that it was because of their disagreement—which by the way, is so false!
McCurdy, however, was quick to add that she and Grande have had their fair share of catfights. She says working 16 hours a day can really take its toll on their friendship and that its natural for friends to experience “ups and downs.”
The Nickelodeon alum also added that her bond with Grande, as well as co-star Miranda Cosgrove, is impenetrable. She said that though she gets to hear a lot of rumors about Grande, it doesn’t affect her at all.
“Sam & Cat” was cancelled only after one season to the surprise of fans. According to a previous report by HollywoodLife.com, it seems like Grande was the main reason why the show was cancelled despite its huge fan base. Their sources claim that Grande wanted to focus on her singing career and pursue other opportunities outside Nickelodeon.
