The gorgeous “We’re the Millers” actress Jennifer Aniston is said to be cast opposite “The Good Shepherd” actor Robert De Niro in “The Comedian.” The drama will start production next year in New York. According to Variety, De Niro is playing the role of Don Rickles, who is known for his stand-up comedy acts and he is very good with insulting people while 46-year-old Aniston is said to play the role of a woman who gets close to De Niro after meeting him at a wedding.
The stand-up comedy material is written by well-known Comedy Central Roast, Jeffrey Ross while the script is written and developed by Art Linson. The show is said to be directed by Taylor Hackford, who has previously won Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film for “Teenage Father.”
Nothing much has been revealed about the plot or the remaining star cast of the movies. The movie is claimed to be a long awaited project of De Niro and now it is finally about to happen. The production is said to be kicked off soon in New York.
Jennifer Aniston was last seen in “She’s Funny That Way,” a screwball comedy directed by Peter Bogdanovich.
