According to Variety, her very first encounter with acting was at the age of 14 in a TBS sitcom “The Bill Engvall Show” where in she played the role of a teen daughter of a family counselor troubled with his own family.
Her major recognition came four years after the sitcom with “The Poker House” (2008), wherein she played the role of an abused victim. According to critics, her lead role in Debra Granik’s “Winter’s Bone” (2010) is considered as her breakout act. The same year Lawrence got the role of villain Mystique in the prequel “X-Men: First Class” shifting to the big franchises.
A year later came the offer of the role of Katniss Everdeen for “The Hunger Games;” it is rumored that Lawrence took three days to accept the role in spite of being a huge fans of the book. It is speculated that she wasn’t sure of how the series would affect her career.
Who knew “The Hunger Games” series would make her a worldwide star within few years.
