“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” star Jennifer Lawrence recently topped in the list of the world’s highest-paid actresses, beating Scarlett Johansson, Kristen Stewart, and Julia Roberts. How much does Lawrence earn? Read on for more details.
There’s no denying Jennifer Lawrence, 25, is one of those sought after actresses in Hollywood.
In Forbes’ list of highest-paid actresses of the year, Lawrence reached the no. 1 spot, having a whopping fortune of $52 million. Main factor? It was reportedly due to her role as Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games” trilogy, which had its first premier in 2012.
Lawrence is not only drawing her riches from the movies she make. The Kentucky-born actress also had a profitable income from her Dior contract for print ads and TV commercials.
Right now, Lawrence is set to appear in the upcoming biographical comedy-drama film “Joy,” together with “Silver Linings Playbook” co-star Bradley Cooper. In the “Silver Linings Playbook,” she bagged two Best Actress Awards in the Academy Awards and Golden Globe Awards.
Second in the list was Scarlett Johansson, 30, whose reputation is constantly rising. She followed Lawrence with a hefty amount of $35.5 million, which was mainly drawn from the Marvel film “Avengers: Age of Ultron” as well as from her first solo action hero “Lucy.”
Furthermore, the list noted Johansson could ask for more than $10 million per movie. In fact, her talent fee in the upcoming “Ghost in the Shell” had producers shelling out $17.5 million just to get her in.
Besides movies, Johansson’s endorsement deals with Dolce & Gabbana and Sodastream also contributed to her large income.
The third in the list was Melissa McCarthy who had $23 million worth of paycheck. Her “Spy” and “Tammy” movies reportedly grossed a total of $335 million globally, spurring her to have the largest annual income ever.
Currently, McCarthy is investing in fashion with the motivation to “build women up rather than the constant tear down.”
The list, which had 18 stars, also included actresses such as Bingbing Fan ($21 million), Jennifer Aniston ($16.5 million), Julia Roberts ($16 million), Kristen Stewart ($12 million), and others.
Forbes also said the list is the first time ever that highest-paid actresses get to be evaluated in truly global earnings.
All in all, the 18 actresses had a combined $281 million worth of paychecks before taxes and fees.
