It is always important that every superhero knows where he/she stands, and for Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton aka Hawkeye, he understands that his character need not have its own stand-alone spinoff movie like the others. Read on to know the details of this scoop.
If there is one character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe who has been undermined, it would have to be Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, otherwise known as Clint Barton. In the recent interview of the humble actor during his press tour for his upcoming film “Kill the Messenger,” he highlights the lack of necessity for Hawkeye to have his own stand alone film. Renner admits that Hawkeye is the ultimate utility hero in all of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, which led him to hint that he is better shown as a supporting character for the big ones, most specifically to the upcoming “Captain America 3.”
“I’m happy to be the ensemble. I’m not scratching or clawing to do a solo movie by any means. I think he’s a utility guy that can bounce around into other people’s universes a little bit, especially like ‘Cap 3,’” hinted the actor as he added a few subtle winks onto the camera after stating, “There’s whispers of that, so who knows.”
Truth be told, it is very noble of him to honestly accept the gravity of his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. By Screen Crush, they found his statement to be convincingly refreshing. Frankly speaking, with the way Marvel Studios splayed out the movie adaptations of the comic books, there’s really no need for him to have a movie centered on his own tale as a mighty hero. Should Marvel ever push through with such project, they would have to come up with a really compelling plot. Nonetheless, the film would appear to be a desperate attempt for commercialism in Marvel’s part as they have failed to introduce him as an overly essential player in the cinematic universe.
There have been many speculations about Renner co-starring in the third installment of the “Captain America” franchise. He even hinted it on his interview, but no official statements were released just yet. Be that as it may, “Avengers: Age of Ultron” will basically be giving him the highlights he so rightfully deserves as speculated by Cinema Blend. They’ve suggested that his absence in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” shall be explained in the overall upcoming superhero collab, that is, “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”
Jeremy Renner may be keeping everything humble with Marvel Studios at the moment because of his many upcoming and ongoing movie engagements (seeing that he’s part of popular Hollywood franchises “Mission Impossible: 5” and “Bourne”). He is only human after all and therefore cannot handle one too many projects at once — talk about a guy on-demand.
That concludes our feature on Jeremy Renner’s take for a “Hawkeye” stand-alone film. Keep tabs on Movie News Guide (MNG) for more updates in the entertainment world.
