Jeremy Renner surely has got a lot of movies going on. Being in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye, you would think that that’s the only universe where he’ll exist. After a long silence, he’s finally commented on appearing alongside Matt Damon in the “Bourne” franchise. Read on to know more about the details of this scoop.
Every film entails a kind of universe that allows the existence of its characters and for Renner, he’s surely keeping up with simultaneously different Hollywood-produced universes. Apart from his role as Hawkeye in Marvel’s “The Avengers,” the very much involved actor is also active in the cosmos of supreme manhunters, ergo the “Bourne” universe. Fans of “Bourne” were thrilled to know about the confirmation on actor Damon and director Paul Greengrass being back in the game to continue where they left off. However, where does that leave Renner’s Aaron Cross? After a series of silence from the arrow-wielding hero, Renner finally gives a statement, a positive one, which entails there will be a lot going on for the next “Bourne” films to come.
According to Empire, Renner is still hooked to play Aaron Cross in the sequel of the spinoff movie “Bourne Legacy” despite the fact that the original Damon-Greengrass “Bourne” tandem is reportedly back on board. You would think that Renner would have some negative reaction towards the (possible competition in the) matter, but he actually does the opposite. He optimistically shared that a possibility of a “Bourne” crossover might transpire, with the existence of two films that belong in one movie universe.
“I think it really opens up the world and it keeps Bourne’s character active. I think Cross’ character is already going to continue to be active. I think it will take creatives to bring them together, which is what I think is ultimately the plan,” expressed Renner during his interview with The Huffington post.
Seeing now that Universal still has the Lin-Renner pair up still active and the thrilling comeback of Damon-Greengrass, it’s unclear as to where the direction of the “Bourne” universe is set to take its course. Will there really be a production for two separate films, or will there only be a one jam-packed ultimate “Bourne” film that has both actors on the lead? Looks like we’ll just have to wait and see how the studio makes its mark from here on out.
That concludes our scoop on Jeremy Renner’s speculation of a unified “Bourne” film. Keep tabs on Movie News Guide (MNG) for more updates on upcoming films.
