Jessica Baker and her husband were supposed to attend a friend’s wedding but due to some unavoidable circumstances, her mother cannot babysit for them. Since it was a strictly adults only event, Mr. & Mrs. Baker cancelled and stayed home.
A few weeks later, to their chagrin, they received a bill from the newly married couple demanding that they pay $75.90 them to cover the costs of their meals after they were a no-show on the day of the wedding. “This cost reflects the amount paid by the bride and groom for meals that were RSVP’d for, reimbursement and explanation for no show, card, call or text would be appreciated,” the note read.
Although she understood the couple being upset with no-shows but Jessica Baker said she has no plan of paying the ridiculous bill. She did wonder what else she could have done. I guess I don’t know what the right answer would have been. What the right thing to do would have been,” she said.
