Comedienne Jillian Bell, known for her recent appearance in “22 Jumpstreet,” is set to join Sony’s untitled Christmas Eve Comedy project. Read on to learn more details about the story.

According to Deadline, the “22 Jump Street” star  will star in Sony’s Untitled Christmas Comedy alongside Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who both starred in “50/50.”

This will also mark as the reunion of Rogen and Gordon-Levitt with “50/50” director Jonathan Levine, who will be directing and penning the screenplay of the said project. The film would be produced by Point Grey Pictures, Sony, and Good Universe production.

The story is about the annual reunion between the friends every Christmas. Unfortunately, it turns out into a disaster as each suffers from their own dilemmas. Bell will star as Betsy, Rogen’s wife. Bell’s character brought various drugs on Christmas Eve to spice up their boring holiday gathering.

Bell, who’s a writer for the thirty-fifth season of “Saturday Night Live” during 2009, is best known for her recurring roles as Jillian Belk in the Comedy Central sitcom “Workaholics” and as Dixie in the fourth and final season of “Eastbound and Down.”

Aside from “22 Jump Street,” she is set to appear in Paul Thomas Anderson-directed “Inherent Vice,” and in the upcoming adaptation of “Goosebumps” from Sony.  Bell, along with her writing partner Charlotte Newhouse, will star in a web series they both created and wrote, “Idiotsitter”, which will air in Comedy Central in June.

“Idiotsitter” will follow the misadventures of a straight-and-narrow young woman (Newhouse) hired to babysit a mega-rich “woman child” (Bell), who is under house arrest in her daddy’s mansion.

The Untitled Christmas Eve Comedy will star Anthony Mackie, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Seth Rogen. It is produced by Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver for Point Grey Pictures, with Good Universe’s Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake and Ariel Shaffir and Kyle Hunter to executive produce.
