Is J.K. Rowling is thinking of writing a new “Harry Potter” book? Ever since the author confirmed that she’s working on “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them”, fans of Harry, Hermione and Ron can’t help but wish that a book 8 is bound to happen soon.
In an interview with Today, J.K. Rowling, however, said that writing “Harry Potter” 8 is not in her immediate plans.
“I think ‘Harry Potter 8′, as in what happened next to Harry, Ron and Hermione, I don’t think that’s going to happen,” she said to the disappointment of fans.
Rowling, however, teased that she’s a type of person who likes to keep her options open, taking the “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them” movie, a Harry Potter spinoff, as an example.
Currently, J.K. Rowling has been doing scripts for the first “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” movie that is based on 2001 “magical creatures” companion book of the “Harry Potter” series. The movie set for release on November 18, 2016.
Even if J.K. Rowling refused to write another “Harry Potter” book, the author still gave into her fans’ request and recently gave updates on the life of Harry, Hermione and Ron. Last July, Rowling took to Pottermore and wrote about Harry’s 34th birthday, written from the point of view of Daily Prophet’s reporter Rita Seeker. The trio got together to attend a Quidditch World Cup final.
Seeker wrote that Ron took over his family’s joke shop while Hermione became the Deputy Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
J.K. Rowling since then has been very vocal that book 7, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” will be the last novel she will write about the trio.
