Finally, the 52-year-old actor John Stamos has been charged with a stern penalty for driving under the influence of a date rape drug. The story has been started back in June when his harsh driving in Beverly Hills got official complaints from multiple motorists. The immediate follow-up fuelled the chance of drug influence that might lead the television actor to encounter such stern violation of traffic rules and instantly after his arrest, the speculation earned proof and he was found guilty of consuming the date rape drug while behind the wheel.
The “Full House” star is lastly charged with a misdemeanor, driving under the influence of a drug on Wednesday, October 14, by Los Angeles prosecutors. Notably, the drug remained unidentified by the cops but the conviction of the “Grandfathered” actor of may lead to a maximum sentence of six months in county jail.
As earlier reported, police picked up Stamos on June 12 and was then transported to nearby Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for observation “due to a possible medical condition.” Earlier, the actor had admitted to have the particular drug as a fitness supplement. That time, he was opting for severe weight loss for two of his upcoming projects.
It wasn’t immediately clear why it took four months to file charges against Stamos. A spokesman for the district attorney’s office said the Beverly Hills Police Department didn’t present the case to prosecutors until October 6.
The charges come at a busy time for Stamos, who is working on two of his shows. New Fox series “Grandfathered” and a recurring role in the Netflix reboot, “Fuller House”
Neither Fox nor Netflix has made any statements on the matter.
Stamos’ publicist, Matt Polk, declined to comment on the charges.
