‘Suicide Squad’ Cast: Which Joker Is The Best? Choose from the List and Tell Us Why!
Who is the best Joker of all time? Is it Heath Ledger?

From Christopher Reeve’s Superman to Robert Downy Jr.’s Ironman, everyone has their favorite actor-superhero. But how about your favorite super villain actor? Let us narrow the topic and talk about one of the most demanding and iconic super villain out there, the arch enemy of Batman, the Joker. Read on for more details.

Through the years, the Joker has been tackled by different actors. And from these reiterations, success and failures emerged. For some, the best Joker was the goofy, mustache-painted-wearing actor from the 1960s. For others, especially for this generation, it is Heath Ledger’s astounding performance of the Clown Prince of Crime in “Batman: The Dark Knight.” And then there are others who, till this day, are haunted by the horrifying laugh of Mark Hamill in “Batman: The Animated Series.”

Before being too enthusiastic about the actor you have in mind, let’s go through a list of some of the actors who played the Joker and the reasons why they’re considered as the best. Hopefully this would help you with your conviction. Do note that the list below doesn’t just cater to the movie scene. It contains actors who played the super villain in all forms of media (Movie, Television, and Animated Series).

Heath Ledger, for the most recent generation, this actor set the standard for being the Joker. The words to describe how we walked, talked, and act as the Joker can be said in numerous ways but the best way description of his portrayal is best summarized by a quote from Xfinity:

“Ledger’s performance was deep, nuanced, calculated and succeeded in reinventing one of pop culture’s most popular personalities. From the smallest flick of his tongue, to the twiddle of a finger, every move was riveting.”

Another well-renowned Joker actor was Jack Nicolson. Nicolson’s interpretation of the role was less dark than the one seen in Christopher Nolan’s movie but his flamboyance shouldn’t be interpreted as being less diabolical but more maniacal.

“The Joker into a bonafide cinematic baddie and made it look effortless. ‘Wait’ll they get a load of me’ was right.

Audiences finally got to see how unstable the character is. A man who’s both genius and maniacal,” reported ComicBookMovie.

The final actor we have on our list is Mark Hamill. “Wait, what?” You may ask. Yes, Luke Skywalker also played as Batman’s arch enemy. You may be scratching your head wondering when did such a thing happen and why you did not see it. The answer is because Hamill didn’t act as the Joker in a live-action franchise but rather as a voice actor. Think back to the time when you were probably a kid or a teenager and you’re watching “Batman: The Animated Series (1992)” and other later spin-off. The diabolical laugh that crept down your spin and got stuck in your memory is the voice of no one else but Hamill.

So did you change your mind? Who’s your favorite Joker of all time? Tell us you chose your particular Joker, we’d love to hear from you.
