Jon Hamm has just been picked up to join Edgar Wright’s new film, “The Baby Driver.” The “Mad Men” actor will be joining Jamie Foxx and Ansel Elgort in the ‘Scott Pilgrim’ directors upcoming crime caper. Read on for more information.

Edgar Wright is known for making some of the funniest movies of the decade. Starting with “Shaun of The Dead,” Wright has been famous for collaborating with Nick Frost and Simon Pegg for his acclaimed and absolutely hilarious Cornetto Trilogy. So obviously, we are agog for word of Wright’s future project, and his next one seems stellar.

And now, according to Tracking Board, the hunky Jon Hamm is joining his latest venture: “Baby Driver.” We are presented with the official logline, and it sounds absolutely stunning. As per it, the movie follows a young getaway driver, musically inclined, who solely relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best. He, after being forced to work for a crime boss, he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens freedom, love and life at large.

Though there is no word on which character Hamm will be playing yet, his comedic chops are evident from his Emmy nomination for recent stint at Netflix’s “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” Hamm also received the Emmy for ‘Best Dramatic Actor’ for his Don Draper at AMC’s “Mad Men.”

Hamm also recently finished working on Fox’s comedy “Keeping Up with the Joneses” alongside Zach Galifianakis and Isla Fisher.

Also on board for “The Baby Driver” are Jamie Foxx and “The Divergent” series’ Ansel Elgort. This is being produced by Working Title’s Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan, who are collaborating with Nina Park via her Big Talk Productions.

Filming is set to begin later this year, and the movie currently comes with a March 17, 2017 release date.
