Jordin Sparks is on a dating hiatus after calling it quits with her longtime boyfriend Jason Derulo. The “Battlefield” singer wanted to take things slow as she was not yet ready for another commitment.
“I don't have time for distractions or people who are going to waste my time. But I'm in a really good place. Mentally, physically, spiritually. I'm in the best place I've been in years!” said the “American Idol” alum in an interview for the #MakeItHappen campaign, as published by People.
Finding a date nowadays is a lot easier with the help of different dating apps such as Tinder. Sparks, however, was quick to say that she would never, “in a million years,” go use the app to find her next significant other. Now social media sites, such as Twitter, might be an entire different game.
The 25-year-old also opened up on what she’s looking for in an ideal partner. Surprisingly, the singer was not very particular and did not have a particular “type.”
“I'm pretty much equal-opportunity: black, white, brown, yellow, I don't care. As long as you've got a good job, it really doesn't matter what you do,” she revealed.
In September, Sparks and Derulo decided to go their separate ways after three years of being a couple. In an interview on “On Air With Ryan Seacrest,” Derulo revealed that the pressure of settling down had taken its toll on his relationship with Sparks. The "Trumpets" singer felt on the spot when he was constantly asked about his plans of proposing to his then girlfriend, which led to a “lot of arguing.” Derulo then insisted that there was no bad blood between the two of them.
We’re not too sure about that. Sparks' latest track called “#BYEFELICIA” might just have been a diss for her former beau with lyrics like:
Once you blew up, head got big and you started changing
Can't believe all the things that you started saying.
Like I'm with you for your fame and your name. What?
The singer could have easily taken a few pointers on Taylor Swift on how turn those pent up emotions into gold. Way to go, Jordin!
