Trevorrow directed Jurassic World. While the movie was able to gross over $1.67 billion in global box office, it was shrouded with mixed reviews. A constant complaint is Howard outrunning a massive dinosaur in her high heels. In the new movie, the renowned filmmaker has taken a backseat and let Bayona helm the sequel. Trevorrow is now listed as an executive producer to the movie.
The Safety Not Guaranteed director/producer has also signed up to direct the still-untitled Star Wars Episode IX, Polygon noted . Recently, he was in the middle of controversy when he commented that female directors are not making action movies because they are not suited for it. He later issued an apology for his comments.

It showed a young girl looking at the skull of a Triceratops in what looks like a museum. Surrounding her are more dinosaur bones that, perhaps, will make appearances as their fleshed-out selves in the anticipated sequel.
Jurassic World 2 will also see the return of Chris Pratt as Owen. B.D. Wong will also reprise the role of Dr. Henry Wu. Meanwhile, Toby Jones of Sherlock and Doctor Who also joined the cast as Wheaton according to the movie’s IMDB page. The blockbuster sequel will arrive in theaters in Jun 22, 2018.
