Watch Chris Pratt race with raptors for the upcoming installment of the 3D science fiction adventure monster, “Jurassic World.” Read on for further details.
Chris Pratt, who stars in his second major hero role after “Guardians of the Galaxy,” tells Entertainment Weekly that it was a dream come true for him to be a part of the franchise.
“I grew up loving Jurassic Park and these epic spectacles. I saw [the first one] opening night in the theater. It was a huge moment for me. Jurassic World may well prove to be another,” said Pratt on EW.
Set 22 years after the events of "Jurassic Park," Isla Nublar, off of Central America's Pacific coast, now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. This new park is owned by the Masrani Global Corporation. Pratt plays Owen, a member of the park's on-site staff who conducts behavioral research on the Velociraptors. At the corporation's request, the park's geneticists create a genetically modified hybrid dinosaur to boost visitor attendance, but it soon runs wild on the island. Click here to see the image.
“There are dinosaurs and there’s the other—there’s this thing that is not one of them, that is not of them. There’s a lot of bold new ideas in the movie and I’m pushing it as far forward as I can. I know Steven didn’t want me to make a carbon copy of the earlier films. So we’re going for it,” said director Colin Trevorrow, who was specifically picked by Steven Spielberg.
"Jurassic World" is the fourth installment in the "Jurassic Park" film series, following the release of "Jurassic Park III" in 2001. Trevorrow is directing a screenplay he co-wrote with Derek Connolly, while Steven Spielberg, director of the series' first two films, will act as executive producer as he did for the third film. Patrick Crowley and Frank Marshall are producing. "Jurassic World" stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D'Onofrio, Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins, BD Wong, Irrfan Khan, Brian Tee, Omar Sy, Katie McGrath, Lauren Lapkus, Andy Buckley and James DuMont
"Jurassic World" will be released on June 12, 2015 in North American territories.
