Warner Bros. have released a new clip for their upcoming direct-to-video animated superhero film, "Justice League Throne of Atlantis." In the clip titled "No Justice League," Steve Trevor visits Cyborg at Justice League’s headquarters to investigate a mysterious sinking of a naval submarine. Unaware who or what is responsible for the attack, Cyborg decides to go solo to investigate, telling Trevor that they don’t need to escalate things just yet. Cyborg tells Trevor that despite what the world knows, there is no Justice League at all.
"Justice League Throne of Atlantis" will serve as an origin story to Aquaman. After the events of "Justice League: War," Ocean Master and Black Manta have declared war against the surface in retaliation of the aftermath of Apokoliptian-tyrant Darkseid's planetary invasion. Queen Atlanna seeks out her other son, Ocean Master’s half-brother Arthur Curry, a half-human with aquatic powers with no knowledge of his Atlantean heritage, to restore balance. Living with powers he doesn’t understand and seeing the danger around him, Curry takes steps to embrace his destiny, joining the Justice League. With his new teammates, he battles to save Earth from total destruction.
“Throne of Atlantis” features the voices of Jason O’Mara, Christopher Gorham, Sean Astin, Shemar Moore and Steven Blum, who reprise their roles from “Justice League: War” as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Flash/Barry Allen, Shazam, Cyborg/Victor Stone while Nathan Fillion reprises his role as Green Lantern, Hal Jordan from “Green Lantern: Emerald Knights,” “Justice League: Doom” and “Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox.” Matt Lanter will voice Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Jerry O’Connell as Superman/Clark Kent, Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman/ Diana Prince, Sam Witwer as Orm and Harry Lennix as the villain Black Manta.
“Justice League: Throne of Atlantis” is directed by Ethan Spaulding (“Son of Batman”), who also helmed “Batman: Assault on Arkham” from a script written by Heath Corson. It is produced by James Tucker and will be distributed by Warner Home Video for a scheduled 2015 release.
