Despite all the bad press, superstar Justin Bieber seems to be making real efforts to change his ways, and it’s partly thanks to Pastor Judah Smith. A friend of Justin’s mother, he’s said to be the guy who is influencing him to make positive changes in his life after a series of bad decisions. Read on.

In a feature on People Magazine, Pastor Judah spoke about how proud he is for Justin Bieber who remains committed to his reformation.

The pastor said that Bieber is developing in spite of becoming successful at such a young age. The 21-year-old singer, according to Smith, has made many “amazing decisions.” He also said that he and the celebrity have been talking to each other almost every day and he’s been giving him a lot of encouragements. With each day, the pastor senses the authenticity and genuineness of the young pop idol to reform.

The process didn’t happen overnight, however, and this was triggered only when Bieber landed himself in jail in Miami for DUI charges back January 2014. It was Bieber’s mother, Pattie Mallette, who introduced the pastor to the then troubled celebrity. Since then, Justin Bieber is slowly doing a full 180 and Pastor Judah hopes that people will see this humanitarian aspect (of helping people) of his personality too.

“His Make-A-Wish efforts are close to unparalleled as far as I know. I think those are things that sometimes get missed in the shuffle,” added Smith in the same People feature.

As part of Bieber’s transformation and reformation, TMZ reports that the roast done for him at Comedy Central, which will be airing on March 30th, was actually requested by the young man himself. Bieber apparently saw this as therapy. The report also notes the changes in behavior that people see in him in the last few months. He’s been “polite, respectful and extremely generous” even to complete strangers.

On that note, Pastor Judah, who has just released his second book “Life is ___,” reiterates that Bieber is determined to become “the man he wants us to be.”
