Justin Bieber Wins Fan Favorite Artist Award at the MMVAs

Justin Bieber won the Fan Favorite Artist Award at the MMVAs fifth year in a row. The 2015 Much Music Video Awards was held at Toronto Canada on Sunday, June 21.This year’s award ceremony proved to be a clean sweep for the artists The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, and One Direction. The award show was co-hosted by Ed Sheeran with Much Music’s Liz Trinnear and Tyrone Edwards.

“We did it! Love u Canada. Promise to make u proud. Grown up in front of u & grown a lot. Thanks for sticking with me. Love u,” he tweeted.  Justin Bieber grew up in the Canadian State of Ontario and was obviously thrilled to be selected as the favorite artist in his homeland.

Justin Bieber has three platinum music albums to his credit and has won numerous awards for many of his songs. His success began with the platinum selling debut EP, “My World.” He hasn’t released any new albums since his last album “Believe” which was released in 2012. He is notable for his musical experiment in 2013, in which he chose to release one new song every Monday. Justin Bieber has made it into the Forbes’ top ten most powerful celebrities list thrice, ranking third, third, and ninth, in 2011, 2012, and 2013, respectively.

Other winners at the MMVA were One Direction who were the international favorite artist group of the year and The Weeknd, who won the video of the year award and awards in several other categories.

The MMVAs was hosted by the Canadian TV channel Much every year to award the best music videos released that year. The MMVA awards are unique because they are never held at a conventional theater. Instead, they are held at the parking lot of the Much channel’s head quarters.
