YG Entertainment captured the attention of the public once again as one of their artists successfully released a mind-blowing music! It did not only earned positive feedbacks, but it also created another international star, 2NE1 CL.
According to KPop Starz, just ahead of her official debut album, CL already set social media on fire when she released her music video on “Hello B*tches” and one of the reasons behind its success is none other than Parris Goebel, the choreographer and dancer behind the hit dance steps to Bigbang’s “Bang Bang Bang,” Taeyang’s “Ringa Linga” and Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” and “Purpose: The Movement” album.
On the release of the behind-the-scenes footage of CL’s latest music video last Monday, the 24-year-old Korean rapper and Goebel talked about the viral dance video that features an all-female dance number.
In the video footage, the “MTBD” singer revealed that she wanted to “show something new” this time around, noting that it’s her first time to make something more centered on dance.
Goebel, on the other hand, expressed her admiration to CL. In her interview, the lead choreographer noted that 2NE1’s leader is “very fearless” and it totally left a big remark to her as she bluntly described the attitude CL showed while they are filming the music video.
Adding on, the dancer also admitted that never in her life she became this connected with an artist this well. For Goebel, CL is a “perfect mix of a female artist.”
“I love anything that’s female empowerment, so for me, I love it when it’s tough and sexy at the same time,” the lead choreographer added.
Moreover, Goebel also noted that it’s her job to show CL in a “different way and in a different light.” She wanted to make sure that the leader’s personality is being represented very well.
“We started it then, but I was like, ‘Asian Bitches’ is too categorized.’ I mean, you can’t sing along with ‘Asian Bitches,’ you know?” CL told Noisey.
Moving on, we all know how curious you are to the badass dancers behind CL’s music video—they are the all-female hip-hop dancers from Auckland, New Zealand named ReQuest Dance Crew that was formed in 2007 and Goebel is the group’s founder and lead choreographer.
