Good news, everyone! You can now get the latest updates about the royal family on Twitter as Kate Middleton, Prince William and Prince Harry create an account on the social media site. Read on to learn more about this scoop.

Let’s all welcome the Twitter newbies — the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry! Three of the most famous members of Britain’s royal family have recently joined Twitter, but sadly, it’s not the kind of account that most fans were waiting for. Just like the Queen’s twitter account (@BritishMonarchy), Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry’s twitter are all under one account — @KensingtonRoyal. And it’s not going to be filled with scoops about the royal family.

According to Shape, the account will focus on the royal family’s “work and the Royal Foundation.” So followers of the royal family’s account should not expect the account’s feed to have the same kind of tweets that some celebs have. And here, we were thinking we’d get to see Kate Middleton tweeting about her pregnancy (or a photo of her new baby) and maybe some tips about her fashion style. Perhaps see Prince Harry tweet about what he thinks about the social media now that he’s on it.

As much as we’d all love to hear from these three directly, it turns out that the account is pretty much like the other royals’ accounts. The Queen’s official account, @BritishMonarchy, and the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall’s account, @ClarenceHouse (which have been up since 2009 and 2010 respectively), have a team responsible for the tweets. But we definitely can’t wait for that rare occasion that Kate Middleton or Prince William or Prince Harry tweet on their own.

The Queen’s official account welcomed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry on the social media site in a “royal” tweet on Wednesday, Jan. 14. 2015.

Not long after, the royal family’s new twitter account has reached over 7,000 followers in its first hour. As of writing, the account has reached over 77,000 followers and has even chosen five tweets as their favorite.
