What’s up with Katie Holmes these days? Well, she stars in a new movie that talks about two manic-depressives that chance upon each other in a psychiatric institution and falls in love—this is where chaos begins when their relationship brings out all the magnificence and dreadfulness of their mental condition. Mail Online reports that Katie Holmes hosted a press meeting for the film on Thursday at the Four Seasons hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Holmes looked relaxed and stunning in a pink knitted top, which she paired with black pants, elegantly showing her slender frame. The 37-year-old highlighted her natural beauty with some natural male-up, which outlined her eyes and cheekbones.
Her dark hair was fashioned in free shoulder length waves and parted on the side. Tom Cruise’s former wife stars as psychologically ill Carla, who falls in love with another patient in the indie film.
In the trailer, Carla is seen to be anxious as she converses with her mother, Sara (Christine Lahti).
In one of the strong scenes, Carla is seen to be probing for some solutions for her condition, as she looks at childhood pictures. ‘The doctor says something has to trigger it, so what was I doing?’ she asks. Her mother responds: ‘There was nothing we could have done. It was going to happen no matter what.’
The closing scene of the clip shows her mother proposing that they go to the hospital together and check her medical documents, explaining explaining ‘You can ask anything, OK? We’ll figure all this out.’
Katie Holmes next project is called “All We Had”, a drama telling the story of a mother who works hard to give her daughter the life she deserves—a better one. She will also make her directorial debut in the movie adaptation of Annie Weatherwax’s novel of the same name. (via E! Online)
