Katy Perry encouraged fans to be their own boss as she graces the cover of Forbes magazine’s “100 Top-Earning Celebrities.”
As the two top boxing champions, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao got the second place in Forbes’ top-earning celebrities with a reported total earnings of $300 million (Mayweather) and $160 million (Pacquiao), Katy Perry on the other hand, was named as the richest famous female celebrity as she place third with a reported earning $135 million.
In a post she made in her Instagram account, the 30-year-old singer explained what motivated her to agree to be the cover of the magazine. She shared an inspirational message to the women. She insisted that it is important to know you can share your success without feeling like you are bragging it to the world.
Captioning the cover photo of herself in Forbes magazine, Katy wrote that before she decided to accept the offer to be on the cover of Forbes, she was told that a lot of women have previously shied away from doing it. The singer wondered if it was because those girls thought socially it would look like they were flaunting or bragging or it wasn’t a humble decision.
Katy also added that there is a difference between being humble and working hard to see the fruits of your labor blossom, and your dreams realized. The songstress hope that her cover can be an inspiration to women out there that it is okay to be proud of hard earned success and that there is no shame in being a boss.
On the other hand, the other celebrities who make it to the top 10 includes One Direction, U.S shock jock, Howard Stern, Garth Brooks, Robert Downey Jr. and Taylor Swift.
