Is Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” really about Katy Perry? Read on for more details about this issue.
A lot of fans have been wanting to know if Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” is really about her archenemy, Katy Perry. It will be recalled that the rumors began circulating when Swift was interviewed by Rolling Stone Magazine. Swift was featured in the cover of the said magazine’s September 2015 issue.
Swift and her BFF, Selena Gomez, “sort of” broke their silence about the “Bad Blood” rumors. Gomez appeared as Swift’s villain in the “Bad Blood” music video, so she was asked if the song was really about Swift’s rival, Katy Perry. However, Gomez did not confirm nor deny the real inspiration behind the controversial song during her interview with Andy Cohen for the October 18 episode of “Watch What Happens Live.” According to Inquisitr, the singer might not want to add fuel to the fire about Swift and Perry’s feuding rumors. Cohen and Gomez played a game called “Plead the Fifth,” where Gomez answered tough questions about her celebrity crush Chris Evans and Nick Jonas’ sexuality.
When asked if “Bad Blood” was about Katy Perry, Gomez kept a straight face. It seemed that she did not want to upset her BFF by saying that the song could be about Perry.
In her latest interview with GQ Magazine, Swift kind of addressed the rumor. However, she neither confirmed nor denied that Perry was the subject of her song. She also said that she did not want people to assume that it was another breakup song. She claimed that the song was about the “loss of friendship.” The “Wildest Dreams” singer also said that she did not include any specific details about the song in any of her interviews, but she must have forgotten what she said during her Rolling Stone interview last year:
“For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?’”
