Keanu Reeves, known for the successful “Matrix” movie franchise, is about to take over television as a new show is in the works. Reeves is going to star in Slingshot Global Media’s “Rain” and not only that because he will be behind the cameras, too! Read on for more details.
The upcoming tv series is based on the book series written by Barry Eisler. “Rain” is about the life of John Rain who will be played by Reeves, who’s a half-American, half-Japanese assassin who works under contracts. He was also well-known for killing people and an expert at covering his tracks. In short, he’s a very talented hitman. However, Rain will stumble upon the reality of what he does when he realizes that it restricts him from bringing people in his life and getting him closer to them.
“As a huge fan of Barry’s work, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to bring his iconic character and incredible world to life. I’m looking forward to partnering with Slingshot on my first series, and reteaming with Chad and David,” said Reeves in the Variety article.
Reeves will act as an executive producer alongside Chad Stahelski and David Leitch. This marks Reeves first venture in the world of TV series and his first major producing gig as well. The show will be distributed by Slingshot Global Media.Also, this is also Slingshot’s first TV series.
“We are extremely excited to be working on a beloved property with such a talented and hard-working actor as Keanu. This series will be the launch pad for the company and highlight our talent-focused, quality-based approach within the ever-changing and expanding television space,” David Ellender said, former Fremantle Media topper.
Currently, the show is looking for a writer to write the script.
