Kendall Jenner, 18, the budding bold model, is taking the modeling world by storm. According to the grapevine, reality-TV-star-turned model Kendall has banned her sister, Kim Kardashian, from attending her fashion shows. Read on to learn more about this scoop.
At the tender age of 14, Kendall began her career in the fashion industry by doing many campaigns for American high-street brands such as Forever 21, Luca Couture and Nordstrom. In 2010, she was in the issue of Teen Vogue, while in 2012, she graced the same cover with Kylie.
She made a remarkable ramp debut in fashion shows of Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy and Giles across New York, London and Paris. She then graced the cover of LOVE magazine’s most recent biannual issue, scored two Teen Vogue covers for their September issue, a Paris Vogue editorial, Givenchy’s autumn campaign and created a niche at the Haute Couture fashion shows. Kendall has grown up into a full-fledged supermodel made quite a statement at 2014 New York Fashion Week.
Apparently, she is successfully breaking into the fashion industry with a potential modeling career. At New York Fashion Week, she has walked the ramp for some of the leading brands including Diane Von Furstenberg and Tommy Hilfiger. At the young age of 17, she was featured on the cover of Australian Vogue, and now she is all set to join Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Dannii Minogue of Australian skincare brand ModelCo.
“[Founder] Shelley Barrett is always on the lookout for the next hot thing…and she thinks Kendall is it. We are in discussions with Kendall’s people and we are in the process of reaching an agreement for her to start in 2015,” said a spokesperson to Daily Mail Australia on Sunday.
It seems like the model and “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” reality star has left her three older half-sisters Kourtney, Kim and Khloe behind in terms of the success score. Even the most famous Kim Kardashian had to wait until she was 31 to get an opportunity to feature on the cover of the distinguished magazine, appearing on L’Uomo Vogue, the Italian men’s edition of the magazine.
“She called me before and was like, ‘Hey, I was invited to the show. I just wanted to let you know. Do you want me to come?’ and I was like, ‘No. I want to be high fashion. I want to be taken seriously.’ Kim was invited to a lot of the shows that I was in. It’s just for my work, it’s not as big a deal as people are making it out to be,” told Kendall to LOVE magazine, as published on The Cut. Apparently she didn’t want her sister success to hinder with her career because she wanted “to be taken seriously” as a model.
The ban comes shortly after Kendall dropped her surname Jenner, which she chose to be known for as an attempt to break away from the Kardashians.
