Tissues anyone? There were plenty of teary-eyed audience during Bruce Jenner or also known as Caitlyn Jenner’s moving acceptance speech last ESPYs Awards night.
Among them was her daughter Kendall Jenner who herself delivered a moving message during the video. The video was presented before Caitlyn was honored with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. The video contains documentation about Caitlyn’s struggles when she was still in the process of becoming a transgender woman.
If you were able to watch the ESPYs Award, you probably notice that her two daughters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, struggled to fight their tears as they broke down while watching Caitlyn giving her speech. They were seen crying as their father spoke on stage, managing to not to choke up and tries to speak clearly so she can thank her fans and family for their support and love.
Caitlyn received an obviously, standing ovation, Kendall and Kylie could be seen wiping their tears away as they clap their hands for their lovely father who courageously stand up for herself for so many years.
On the other hand, in her speech she pin pointed things about her experiences, struggles, motivation and inspiration that made her decide to dealt with her situation. She also went to talk about trans youth relating it to late trans teenagers Mercedes Williamson and Sam Taub.
Cait stated that many trans are getting bullied, getting beaten up and murdered, because of this many trans’ only escape is to commit suicide. She insisted that trans people deserve something vital. They deserve respect. “And from that respect, comes a more compassionate community, a more empathetic society and a better world for all of us,” Jenner added.
Meanwhile in the video, Cait’s daughter’s talked about the media speculation and coverage, ultimately supporting their father. Kendall also stated that it was really hard for them to see because their dad does not cry. “To finally be free, that must be the greatest feeling in the world,” Jenner’s daughter added.
Though there were still controversies surrounding how Cait received the award, many were still hoping that somehow this move from Cait can make a change when it comes to trans issues.
