Kendrick Lamar, also known as King Kunta, is coming to croon a few songs in Australia in March 2016. The Compton Hip hop MC is going to join the likes of Tom Jones, Noel Gallagher, The Decemberists, The National, City and Colour, and The Cat Empire to headline the Australian Bluesfest next year.
Lamar is going to be in Australia for the Bluesfest 2016, which will be his third visit to Australia, the last one being the December 2012 tour in which he performed songs from his critically acclaimed album “Good Kid, m. A.A. d city.” He was also seen on Eminem’s tour recently as a special guest.
Lamar is known for his breathless rap style and stylish production effects in his music. MTV had named him the hottest MC in the game in 2013 and he has come a long way since then. Since then, he learned massive recognition, Grammy nominations, including one for best album, and has recently released another critically acclaimed album called, “To Pimp a Butterfly.” The new album includes influences from funk, spoken word poetry, and jazz.
Kendrick Lamar is going to be in Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne on 21st March 2016. He is also going to Allphones Arena, Sydney on March 23rd before he heads out to Bluesfest 2016, which will be held at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm, Byron Bay New South Wales. He will be playing on 24th March at the Bluesfest.
Byron Bay Bluesfest is an ongoing outdoor music festival that is held in NSW area in Australia. The festival showcases performances over seven stages and can sometimes serve a crowd of over 6000 people. The festival has been around since the nineteen nineties and has been massively successful so far. The tickets for the festival will be available soon.
