“Scandal” Star Kerry Washington is the perfect definition of class. Washington and the rest of the “Scandal” cast answered some of the most interesting questions during the Paleyfest on Sunday, March 8. Read on to learn more about this scoop.

Kerry Washington is not far from her reputable character in the hit series, “Scandal.” During the Paleyfest panel, Kerry Washington and her co-stars answered some of the most awkward questions and gave some interesting details about their show.

According to the The Wrap, the panel included Kerry Washington (Olivia Pope) alongside Tony Goldwyn, Darby Stanchfield, Scott Foley, Katie Lowes, Guillermo Diaz, Joshua Malina, and Jeff Perry.

Jimmy Kimmel served as the moderator for the panel. A few fans were also given the chance to raise their questions at the end of the panel. One fan particularly brushed up on a sensitive and awkward topic.

The audience member asked Washington and the cast on how they handle real-life scandals, particularly that of their co-star Columbus Short’s legal woes in 2014.

Washington quickly reacted and said, “The one thing that I would say, just so that it’s clear: everyone who’s in this family is in this family whether you’re in this show or not. I don’t celebrate the laughter at that question.”

Washington added that while she understands the audience member’s question, she chooses to remain silent and hopes that the viewers will understand.

According to E! News, another fan mentioned about Short during the question and answer portion, but the fan praised Short for being “nice and humble.”

The panel also asked them about the show’s latest episode and its similarities to the ongoing Ferguson issue. Washington explained that it’s important for the show to be about a black woman, but it does not necessarily have to be all about that.

She says that the writers have come to a point where they have already felt comfortable addressing more race on the show.

Washington reveals that Shonda Rhimes expresses her feelings and emotions through words and she says that it’s an honor for them to be able to tell that story. The cast also admitted that no one dares to disagree to Rhimes.
