The year 2014 has come and go. And for many people, it was a roller coaster ride filled with ups and downs. The same thing goes for celebrities who experienced a crazy year. One of these celebrities is Kesha.

Yes, we spelled her name right. It seems like 27-year-old singer Kesha has decided to drop the dollar sign from her Ke$sha name, which she used as a signature style for her music. The reason why Kesha decided to drop the dollar symbol was because she thought it would help her be taken as a serious artist instead of just a "one-trick pony."

Apart from dropping the dollar sign from her name, Kesha has thanked her fans for helping her get through the crazy 2014 that she had. Earlier last year, Kesha decided to check herself into rehab to get help for an eating disorder she was battling with. A couple of months later, Kesha was released from rehab with a brand-new perspective on her life. This was also when the singer dropped the symbol from her name.

A few months after, Kesha pursued on suing her longtime producer Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald for charges of emotional abuse and sexual assault. While this legal battle is still ongoing, Kesha did not let the experience stop her from thanking her fans for all the support they have been showing her.

Despite these positive changes in the singer’s life, it seems like not everyone is pleased about it. In fact, Kesha’s drag queen friend Lady Lloyd was recently interviewed on her thoughts about Kesha. According to Lloyd, she misses her friend and wishes that she could go back to her old ways whenever they go out. The drag queen believes that Kesha is trying to change her image since she hasn’t been able to release ballads that she considers are among the best of her work.

Additionally, Kesha believes that by dropping the dollar sign from her name, she will be able to show a more mature version of herself so that people will see that she has what it takes to be a deep individual.

As of this writing, Kesha is busy working on a musical comeback. She is no longer dealing with the eating disorder that she used to have.

Was dropping the dollar sign off her name all that Kesha needed to be taken seriously as a recording artist? What do you think?
