Keshia Knight Pulliam Eliminated from “Celebrity Apprentice” for Not Calling Bill Cosby

The famous reality TV series about business and finance “Celebrity Apprentice” started the season with an awkward episode on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, on NBC. Unexpectedly, Bill Cosby became the highlight of the episode.

The show was taped in the first part of 2014 before the numerous sexual assault accusations on the comedian surfaced. Season 7’s premiere focused on Keshia Knight Pulliam who was known as Rudy Huxtable in “The Cosby Show.”

Pulliam was women team’s project manager. The teams’ challenge was to raise funds for a bake sale by calling rich people. Geraldo Rivera’s team won, and Pulliam had no choice but to enter the boardroom and face the boss Donald Trump with her daughter-advisor Ivanka and Piers Morgan.

Pulliam took award-winning snowboarder Jamie Anderson and Kate Gosselin with her.

Trump insisted that Pulliam should have called Cosby to help them raise funds. However, Pulliam did not think it is right to call him after not having communication for a long time.

“So for me to pick up the phone, having not talked to you for five years, except for when we run into each other for a Cosby event – I feel that’s not my place to do,” Pulliam told Trump.

Trump did not accept her alibi. He told her that Cosby is a “tremendous guy” who is very rich. He believed that a single phone call for him would have changed the outcome for the sake of charity. He told her that she must take responsibility.

He gave her $25,000 from his own money just for her charity but ended up saying, “Keshia, you’re fired.”

According to AV Club, the producers of the series had no idea that the connection of Cosby and Pulliam would become awkward since Cosby’s sexual assault allegations were not on the headlines yet.

Judd Apatow, famous in Twitter for bashing Cosby, tweeted that he believed Pulliam knew and did not want to contact a “rapist” for charity.

Pulliam, who was still praised by her fans for her performance on the episode, tweeted that she was misunderstood because of the editing.
