Although the game is free to download, players will still spend real money on in-app shoppingfor virtual outfits and other objects. Because of this game becoming very popular, parents are finding massive charges on their credit card statements as children use their parent’s card to pay for in-app shopping of virtual goods.
While Kim is certainly delighted with the fanatical success of her game, this has caused huge trouble to a lot of parents. As the success of Kim’s game has amplified, so are the complaints from parents mentioning the game is causing monetary troubles and off-putting their children.
Parents like writer Ayelet Waldman took to social media to spread the awareness about the consequences of the game and stated that many children are unacquainted of how hastily they can spend money on the game.
Evil, vile Kardashian Hollywood tricked my 11 yr old into spending $120 in 2 days. He's crying hysterically. Pox on those fuckers.

Today.com reported in response to all the repercussion. Kim appeared on “The Today Show” on Aug. 12, 2014 to defend her game to Matt Lauer.
The reality star has said that it’s the parents’ responsibility to keep an eye on their children who play games with in-app purchase options.
“You just have to make sure that your parental controls are all set. I think you just have to be responsible, and don’t have your credit card linked to where your kid can just spend if they want to, or ask permission,” told Kim to Matt Lauer.
Industry experts are predicting that the game will gross $200 million by the end of 2014. She said the creator of the app, Glu Games Inc., has been “very pleased with their numbers.”
“I didn’t think it would do this well, and I wasn’t underestimating it at all, but I’m really pleasantly surprised with how it’s turned out,” continued Kim.
