According to reports, Shelton let Lambert know that he does not have any plans to bother and fight her anymore by writing rival songs about their “past.” It was because he knows that whatever he do, he will never win over his ex!
On Thursday, Aug. 25, 2015, the 31-year-old “Little Red Wagon” singer teased the fans about her writing a new song alongside with her friends and collaborators Natalie Hemby and Nicolle Galyon.
Many fans and music lovers speculated that maybe Lambert is on for a breakup song. It was since she just had her divorce and she’s been so open about moving on with the help of music.
Her ex, on the other hand, is also busy writing his own song to cope up with his recent divorce, according to Kpopstarz.
Shelton posted his update about the new song on his Twitter last Aug. 20, 2015, few days before Lambert posted hers. In his post, he gave thanks to Jon Randall and Jessi Alexander.
But, it seems like the music will not be a rival song against Lambert as some fans expected as he declared that Lambert is a better songwriter than him.
“Even after the split, Blake was the first one to declare that she’s not only a better lyricist than him, but she’s also a faster songwriter,” an insider told the outlet.
Though Shelton teased his fans about a new song by posting on his Twitter, the source added that he is less than focused now on recording a new song. It was said that he is more focused on the upcoming season of “The Voice.”
Moreover, Shelton, cites the source, was open about him losing over Lambert. He stated that his ex would win hands down when it comes to record sales or songwriting.
Adding on, the source said that Shelton says that Lambert will be able to a write a better breakup song than he could ever come up with. He also said that he does not want to engage in a war with her by wiring a rival song.
“He especially hates the idea of alienating her fans,” the source said.
