A tiny overlook can make a big mistake that has all the ability to dishearten a sect of people or an entire nation. That’s what happened on Sunday evening (US Time) at The Axis in Las Vegas.
Initially, host Steve Harvey declared Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutiérrez as Miss Universe 2015 and Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach as the first runner-up. But after a few minutes of Miss Columbia’s crowning, Harvey suddenly apologized for his mistake and re-declared the winner by reading the card properly.

Wurtzbach was the first candidate to confront the most-awaited Q&A portion of the pageant and even she was the last candidate to be called into the magic circle of three, Inquirer.net reported.
According to Phil Star Global, the Philippines beauty was asked: “Earlier this year, there was a controversy in the Philippines about the United States reopening of military base in your country. Do you think the United States should have a military presence in your country?”
While giving answer Wurtzbach confidently said that both the nations (Philippines and the US) always had a good relationship with each other and there would hardly be any problem with that at all.
“We were colonized by the Americans and we have their culture and our traditions even up to this day and I think that we’re very welcoming with the Americans,” she added.
On the other hand, the final three contestants were asked that why they consider that they should be the next Miss Universe. In reply the Philippines beauty opined that if she had received this prestigious honor and recognition, she would use her voice to influence the youth and raise awareness to some important issues like HIV, as she believed that this has been one of the major concerning issues in her nation.
