Many people may get uncomfortable with the idea that the story about their life will be used by a director. There is a purpose as to why many of the biopic that have been made till now are picked up when the subject is no longer alive.
According to TIME.com, when Joy Mangano, who is an entrepreneur and inventor, was told by David O Russell that the story about her life will be turned into a movie then she didn’t bother at all. Mangano said in an interview with TIME, people will come and ask will you be bothered to be an inspiration.
She was confident that the director will not make any change in her real life story and the outcome was just right. The movie “Joy” depicts the story about Mangano and how she went on to become an entrepreneur.
The main character in the movie, that is of Mangano, has been played by Jennifer Lawrence which takes us on a journey of divorced mother of Long Island. The woman in the story creates a self-wringing mop that is detachable; she worked her way out and established an enterprise that was very successful.
According to npr.org, the life of Mangano was closely aligned with the story of the movie. Lawrence made a statement recently that the movie is only half inspired by the life of Mangano. The remaining half of the movie has been created in the mind of the director Russell and of the stories of different women that have inspired him.
Certainly, the stories of all these women have been and will be an inspiration for numerous people. The movie will inspire you and generate more respect in the minds of people.
