‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ Is Getting a Remake!

Movie franchise remakes have been happening left and right and this time around, another horror movie favorite is happening. Read on for more details.

According to Latin Post, the 1997 classic hit teen horror film “I Know What You Did Last Summer” is getting a remake. Its original was spearheaded by a batch of stars such as Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ryan Philippe.

The story is about a group of teens who were out enjoying their summer on the beach. But, tragedy struck when they hit a man whom they thought they killed. What they did was to throw the body in the ocean. It was one hell of a summer. After a year since that tragedy, Hewitt’s character returned to town from college bearing the memory of last year. Then, she found herself terrorized by someone unknown who claims that he/she knows what she did last summer.

One by one the group of teens who were altogether summer of last year started to get terrorized by one person. “I Know What You Did Last Summer” raked in more than a hundred million dollars, which made the cast really famous and launched successfully Hollywood careers.

“I Know What You Did Last Summer” is based on the book by Lois Duncan, which was written in 1973. The remake of the movie will be based on the book as well.

The remake for the movie has hired Mike Flanagan of “Oculus” to write the script. It is expected that the remake will only be shelling out a small budget.

No one has confirmed yet when “I Know What You Did Last Summer” is going to premiere, but it is very likely that it is happening next year, 2016.
