“Gossip Girl here! Your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite” opens the show.
The series featured Serena Van Der Woodsen (Blake Lively), Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley), Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) and Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen).
While the CW show has ended in 2012 after six seasons on TV, let us take a look back at the five best “Gossip Girl” moments.
1. Blair Strips Off At A Burlesque Club
In season one, Blair Waldorf was head-over-heels for Nate Archibald. Sadly, Nate had his eyes set on Blair’s BFF, Serena Van Der Woodsen. Chuck Bass took on his own business venture away from his father’s empire and opened his own burlesque club to make his father proud.
The burlesque club scene in an episode titled, “Victor/Victrola” is what started the Blair and Chuck or “Chair” phenomenon. Chuck fails to get the seal of approval from his father and Blair comes to comfort him. He challenges her into dancing on stage, and when she does, Chuck suddenly sees her in a new light.
The two eventually hit it off at the back of Chuck’s limousine. Blair tried to avoid Chuck the next day and even confessed in church for committing a sin.
2. When Chuck Finally Said “I Love You”
If there’s one thing that “Gossip Girl” fans know, it’s the fact that Blair had a hard time hearing those 3 words, 8 letters from Chuck. When he finally said it, we thought these two would have a happily ever after, but we did not see that Chair would find themselves bored with each other.
After Chuck finally told Blair that he loves her, the two went on and played games, but eventually the two found themselves bored and had to go on their separate ways.
3. Blair and Serena’s Series of Catfights
Blair and Serena are best friends, but they can also be the best of enemies in one flick of a hand. While there are quite many catfight scenes between these two, what matters is that at the end of the day (or weeks), the two will still find a way to make up and scheme together instead of scheming against each other.
4. When Serena Killed Someone
There was one epic Serena Van Der Woodsen moment, which finally explained why Serena chose to ditch Blair without saying a word. Serena finally opens up to Blair and tells her that she killed someone and that she’s scared when she learned that Georgina Sparks is back.
5. The Mysterious ‘Gossip Girl’
Who would ever forget the phrase, “You know you love me. XOXO, Gossip Girl,” which marks the end of the episode. The characters kept on looking for the real Gossip Girl, only to find out in the season six finale that it was Dan Humphrey all along. We know how much trouble Gossip Girl gave to a whole lot of characters.
