It is no secret that in the past few years, Asian entertainment, and in particular Korean entertainment, has crossed the country’s borders and has infiltrated the rest of the world, which has been very well received, and several stars, such as Lee Min Ho, have become household names internationally overnight. It comes as no surprise then that one of Korea’s most popular rising stars, Lee Jong Suk, is currently being sought after by a particular KBS television show which is currently trying to revive itself. Read on to learn more about this KBS drama, and to learn more about Lee Jong Suk’s potential role in the show.

According to Korean drama entertainment news sites, Lee Jong Suk, a popular actor and rising star in Korea and in China, is currently being sought after to star in an upcoming KBS television series entitled “Beautiful Mind.”

The series, in its earlier stages of development, according to Dramafever, was entitled “Dr. Frankenstein”, due to the fact that the lead character, which Jong Suk will potentially portray, Dr. Lee Young Oh, is a neurosurgeon with a multiple personality disorder reminiscent of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, or of a dangerous monster, like the monster mentioned in the medical drama’s first working title.

According to Soompi, Dr. Lee Young Oh is the way he is, and has a hard time showing his true emotions to those around him due to a unique disorder in his frontal lobe.

Before Lee Jong Suk was approached, popular actors Yoo Ah-In and Kim Soo Hyun were offered the role, but both turned it down, despite the fact that the drama will be penned by “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” scribe, Kim Tae Hee.

According to a report on AllKPop, Lee Jong Suk’s agency, Wellmade Yedang, confirmed that he had been offered the lead role for “Beautiful Mind” on Aug. 12, 2015, and informed the media that the actor is still considering whether he will be accepting the offer or not.
