Kristen Stewart is set to star opposite Nicholas Hoult in the upcoming futuristic love story Equals. However the 23-year-old actress is nervous while taking on the part in the movie.
“I can’t believe I agreed to do it,” Stewart said in a recent interview with The Associated Press on Monday, Jan. 14. “I’m terrified of it. Though it’s a movie with a really basic concept, it’s overtly ambitious. It’s a love story of epic, epic, epic proportion. I’m scared.”
Equals is a romantic adaptation of George Orwell’s classic dystopian novel 1984, which tells about rebellion in a futuristic society. The project is sheduled to start fiming later this year with director Drake Doremus.
Kristen is hopeful to bring something really natural with Drake, but she has already told directors it’s not that easy as it appears and that they shouldn’t expect this much with her role.
“I trust Drake’s process and I know we will do something really natural and real,” she said. “But I told Drake, ‘Don’t expect that I am going to be able to do this. It’s too hard.’ But he wouldn’t take ‘no’ for an answer. I’ve given directors disclaimers before, but never this much.”
Doremus, who also directed Jennifer in 2011’s Like Crazy, appears to have complete confidence in both the leading stars as he says, “It became evident in my head that Nick and Kristen would have great chemistry.”
Doremus, however, admitted that he actually first asked Jennifer, 23, to co-star opposite her beau Nicholas, 24, in the film. Even though the script moved J-Law to tears, she couldn’t see herself in the role.
