Just a few more days and we are all be greeting a New Year. 2016 promises new prospects and this includes a lot of new animations coming to cinemas and Television. In fact, the first month of 2016 will hold plenty of events in the world of animation. Plenty of exciting revivals and new movies are coming… let’s break them down:
When the first teaser for the upcoming movie was released this year prior to the release of “Inside Out,” it definitely got a lot of people excited. The movie by Universal Pictures looks promising, which will revolve around the life of the protagonist, Max. She is a favorite pet of Katie who lives in a Manhattan apartment becomes second to the eyes of his owner when Katie brought home a new pet, Duke, from the pound. However, the two will have to work together and put their differences aside to fight off a rabbit named Snowball who leads an “army” of abandoned pets who aim to take revenge on the pets who are happily owned.
“The Secret Life of Pets” is directed by Chris Renaud and Yarrow Cheney and is slated for release on July 8.
Remember Bubbles, Blossoms and Buttercup? Well, these three adorable girls are coming back. Cartoon Network will revive the franchise and will focus on sugar, spice and everything nice! It is still unclear, though, whether the girls will come face-to-face again with familiar villains such as Mojo Jojo and Him. The new series will premiere in 2016.
The series took a break in October and is now set to return on Jan. 4, 2016. This will mark the show’s fourth “StevenBomb” special and promises a whole week full of new episodes. Two of the new episodes coming will show Steven celebrating his birthday and will also dive into how Ruby and Sapphire bet before Garnet.
The series left fans a cliffhanger in November and its return this January will solve all the mysteries. “Gravity Falls” has been well-received by viewers worldwide. Unfortunately, this is going to be the last time we’re going to see the series as its creator, Alex Hirsch has already confirmed that he’s ending the show. On the bright side, he is not closing his doors for a new series that will involve the Pine twins.
It has been over 4 years since the release of “Kung Fu Panda 2.” “Kung Fu Panda” is one of the highest grossing franchises and a lot of people are so excited to see Po back. The sequel will be picking up a while where “Kung Fu Panda 2” left off. Po will find his place in a new world where he is now the master and will also be faced with two villains. The movie is set to hit theaters on Jan. 29, 2016.
The sequel to the hit “Finding Nemo” in 2003, “Finding Dory” will take 6 months after. Dory, known for her poor memory will start recalling childhood memories, specifically a “jewel of Monterey, California,” which she will look for along with Nemo and Marlin. Andrew Stanton, the director of “Finding Nemo, will return as director and writer along with Angus MacLane. The movie is slated for a June 17, 2016 premiere.
With all of these new animations coming next year, we can really say that it has significantly evolved and it doesn’t belong to just children because adults have started enjoying these animations for the past years and it just keeps getting better.
