When February comes along, we’d expect to get a list of weddings, engagements and proposals, especially on Valentine’s Day. It seems one of the most amazing celebrity proposals we got in Valentine’s Day is that of our own Lady Gaga.
On Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, Gaga was spotted looking all snug in her purple coat with her hand over her ring finger. According to Gaga’s latest Instagram post, she is engaged! Her post showed her wearing a beautiful heart-shaped diamond ring, captioned with, “He gave me his heart on Valentine’s Day, and I said YES!”
Wow, talk about a sweet proposal and with such a beautiful ring to suit the memorable day!
According to the Times-Herald Record’s executive editor Barry Lewis, Gaga’s boyfriend of about four years, Taylor Kinney, popped the question on Valentine’s Day. Afterwards, they went to her parents’ restaurant, Joanne Trattoria located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, to announce the big news.
Lewis was coincidentally having dinner there with his wife when Gaga and Kinney stepped in with their bodyguards and took a seat by the bar. Lewis heard Gaga say “It was time” and show her ring. Her father, Joe Germanotta, later opened a bottle of champagne to make a toast for the newly engaged couple. Lewis and his wife also took the chance to congratulate the happy couple just when they were about to leave.
Gaga and Kinney have been dating since 2011, after meeting during their collaboration work on her music video “You and I.” Back in December, amidst engagement rumors, Gaga revealed in an interview for Howard Stern’s SiriusXM radio show what kind of wedding she’d like to have.
“You don’t know me very well if you think I’m gonna have a big wedding. If I get married, I’m gonna be like hanging out of a pickup truck in a David’s Bridal [gown] while my stylist is screaming at me, trying to put a blonde wig on my head!” Gaga revealed.
Congratulations to Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney!
