Singing sensation Lady Gaga is reportedly replacing Beyoncé at Coachella this year. The announcement was done by Billboard initially and was later confirmed by Gaga herself. Fans were already speculating Beyoncé to drop out from the show after she revealed about her pregnancy earlier this year. She would be in her third trimester at the time of the festival. The fest will be now headlined by Lady Gaga, Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar.
Lady Gaga Replace Beyoncé For Coachella Gig
Coachella made an official announcement that Beyoncé would no longer be performing this year. The social media account of Coachella stated that “Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyoncé has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella.” Furthermore, the festival producer Goldenvoice and Parkwood mentioned that she will return to headline the show next year (via Entertainment Online).
Lady Gaga recently gave a mesmerizing performance at Super Bowl halftime at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. She later performed at Grammy with Metallica and is keeping busy with her upcoming world tour titled as Joanne. It will kick off on August 1 in Vancouver, British Columbia and will continue until the end of this year. Gaga flattered everyone with her star-studded recent performances. She will also be seen Bradley Cooper’s remake of the 1954 musical drama film, A Star Is Born later this year.
Beyoncé Off For Maternity Leave?
The Lemonade singer broke several records on social media with her twin’s pregnancy earlier this year. Certainly, it was no less than breaking news for the start of 2017. Her Instagram picture set a new record for the most -liked photo of all time at 6.4 million likes and counting. No one had the faintest thought the singer was pregnant, let alone with twins.
Following to her doctor’s order she is taking off from Coachella at least. It is still not known whether she will continue with her other projects or not for the time being. Beyoncé and hubby Jay-Z have a daughter Blue Ivy Carter, born on January 7, 2012. In fact, their announcement of first pregnancy was also quite special. They broke the news at MTV Video Music Awards and the news was listed in Guinness World Records for most tweets per second recorded for a single event.
For now, fans can stay assured for a wonderful fest coming up ahead. Lady Gaga can definitely pull off Coachella in a fabulous way.
